Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how mm to inches handles information when you use our converters and tools. We focus on minimizing data collection and keeping your measurement activity private.

What we collect

We do not create user accounts and do not store your conversion inputs on our servers. Inputs you type or paste stay in your browser. Standard server logs may include IP address, user agent, and requested URL for security and reliability.

Browser extension (Chrome)

Our MM↔IN Converter Chrome extension collects no personal data and operates offline. Preferences (precision, rounding, default unit) and temporary selection text are stored only on-device via chrome.storage.local and are not synced to your Chrome account.

The extension uses minimal permissions (contextMenus, storage) and, in v1, injects no content scripts. It does not send your inputs to our servers, does not perform telemetry, and does not share data with third parties.

Analytics

We use privacy-conscious analytics to understand aggregate usage (page views, device types, referrers). No personal profiles are built from your measurement inputs. You can block analytics cookies via your browser settings or extensions.

Google Analytics: We collect anonymized traffic metrics (pages visited, approximate region, device type). IP addresses are truncated where supported. You can opt out with browser add-ons or by blocking GA scripts/cookies. We do not send mm to inches inputs as events. Learn more: Cookies | Privacy | Partner Sites.

Cookies

Cookies are used only for functionality (theme, preferences) and analytics. See our Cookie Policy for details and how to manage consent.

Data sharing

We do not sell personal data. We may share aggregate, non-identifying metrics with service providers who help us operate the site (e.g., hosting, analytics) under confidentiality commitments.

Data retention and security

Server logs are retained for a limited period for troubleshooting and security, then deleted or anonymized. We use industry-standard safeguards to protect the service, but no system is perfectly secure.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product or legal changes. Material updates will be highlighted on this page with a revised date.
